This is an annoying but quite normal issue with almost all LG TV models.Īlthough LG provides an option for lip sync and AV sync adjustment, it fails to perfectly sync sound, whether you have an external soundbar or using your gaming consoles like Playstation, Xbox, or PC, the audio delay is what LG users face often. If you are using LG WebOS, OLED, or another LG TV model, the sound delay, lip sync issue is what you must be dealing with on them. Generally speaking, you shouldn’t need to alter the audio by more than 150 ms, plus or minus.If you’re annoyed with the lip sync issue on your LG TV and want to fix this audio delay issue without any loss of quality, I have covered it all in this guide. Just play with the settings until the audio syncs with the video. Depending on the player or TV, this might be a positive or arbitrary number. On a computer or other compatible device, VLC Player (the macOS version is shown below) lets you adjust the audio via a negative number, as in 200 milliseconds before the video: A value of -200 means the audio will be shifted 200 milliseconds forward in time in relation to the video. You’re more likely to find such settings in newer TVs than older ones. These settings are generally found in the advanced audio or Bluetooth device settings. And while aptX LL is great, it’s not universally supported. Both of those scenarios, however, depend on the transmitting device and the receiving device having those capabilities. And newer iterations of Bluetooth–version 5.0 and above–have a feature that automatically negotiates latency. Converting a digital audio signal to an analog waveform you can hear takes just a couple of milliseconds, but transmitting audio from one place to another takes time: 40 to 50 milliseconds using a low-latency codec such as aptX LL.
